Xiuhtezcatl (sho-tess-cat) is a familiar name around the globe. At age 6, he took a mic to explain that every living thing is sacred. This awareness safely guides us to transform all harmful practices, and live as true ‘Earth Guardians’. Growing up in the Aztec and Sufi tradition, Xiuh committed his life to protect our rich Earth and climate for our and future generations and to lead by example: living, speaking, standing up strong for what our heart tells us is right. As the oil industry attacked him, his pure passion, wit and Hip Hop made headlines nationwide. He won! Fracking in Boulder was stopped! Next, he joined a bunch of kids to sue the U.S. government for wrecking the future, inspiring youth around the globe to follow their example. As they passed the first hurdle with flying banners, media presence exploded. Xiuh is nonstop on the move, speaking and performing at schools, the UN, marches, events and festivals, also in Europe and Australia.
